Duality of Sisters - Mahika and Nalani

"Mahika and Nalani were two peas in a pod: games, entertainment, dreams in common, adventures to live together.
But a strange light had come to divide them, leaving Mahika blind."

I've tried to visualize the twins' bond and their troubles in this illustration. They are close, but they are coming from opposite directions. The iridescent light swirls around them like a constant presence. The star brooch shines faintly, unable to illuminate Mahika's dull gaze, and Nalani's concern frames everything: she who would do anything to bring back the smile into her sister's face.
